The short version of the rules for using paper.
paper can be wrong
An AI reads your papers, and it can misread a date, an amount or a whole sentence. Treat a card as a helpful summary, not as advice. Check the original paper before you pay, sign, file or miss a deadline. paper is not legal, tax, medical or financial advice.
Free, as it is
paper is free and takes no payments. It is offered as it is, with no promise that it will always work, be available, or keep your data. Keep the original papers. Features, free credit and the service itself can change or stop.
Your OpenRouter account
If you connect OpenRouter, reading is paid from your account there, to OpenRouter, under their terms. paper only uses the connection when you add papers, and you can disconnect at any time. paper is not responsible for what OpenRouter charges.
What you may add
Add your own papers, or papers you may handle. Do not add anything illegal, do not try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service, and do not use it to harm others. Accounts that do can be removed.
Your data stays yours
You keep everything you add. paper uses it only to give you your cards. See the privacy page for how it is handled and how to delete it.
